BlueWild and wild swimming specialists ‘Take to the Water’ sail you to swim at both the Bass Rock and the Isle of May – two of Scotland’s most iconic islands.
- Sail from Dunbar historic harbour along the John Muir country park coastline
- The Bass Rock – one of the World’s largest gannet colonies – presents a majestic backdrop to nature at its finest. Many visitors sail around the rock and wonder what it would be like to swim in the waters beneath it. You can!
- Imagine slipping into the sea from the remarkable and remote Isle of May, its beauty and wildlife at the edge of the North Sea.
- The main seabird breeding season has passed, cliff-dwelling birds have migrated; young birds are maturing and the island becomes quieter.
- A short walk across the Isle takes you to quiet coves where you can swim from, relax and enjoy these beautiful places – always mindful that these shores are seasonal homes to marine wildlife.
- Bring your usual sea-swimming kit, suitable thermal protection, tow float, warm clothing, suitable footwear and plenty of layers for travelling on the boat. Full joining info and kit list will be shared before your tour.
